The World Day for Monuments and Sites, also known as World Heritage Day, refers to the international day celebrated on 18 April each year with various events, such as visits to monuments and cultural heritage sites, conferences, etc. As the celebration takes on a different theme each year, the theme chosen for 2023 is Heritage Changes, referring to Climate Change.
The aim of this international day of celebration is to raise awareness about the diversity of humanity's cultural heritage, its vulnerability and the efforts required to protect and preserve it. In this regard, this year's thematic area provides the opportunity to address questions related to learning about traditional methods of knowledge regarding climate change and how to utilize cultural heritage to support vulnerable communities in climate action.
