The Archaeological sites of Halkidiki welcome the August Full Moon 2023

The annual organization of actions by the Ministry of Culture and the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage with the participation of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Halkidiki and Mount Athos, in archaeological sites, historical sites, monuments and museums throughout the country, takes place in Halkidiki for the August Full Moon 2023 with free admission on the last night of August. Note that this year the moon will rise twice, on the first and last night of August.

The programme of actions is as follows:

Full Moon 31st of August 2023

Municipality of Aristotle

Olympiada, Ancient Stagira:

August full moon with the Thessaloniki Youth Band Epitonion (http://www.tyb.gr/bio.php), under the musical direction of Nikos Chrysochos. The stoa of the ancient market of Stagira will serve as a stage for the musicians, while the square in front of the stoa will host the audience.

Starting time at 19:30

Entrance to the public is free, while the archaeological site will remain open from 19:00 to 24:00.

The musical event is organized in cooperation with the Regional Unit of Halkidiki.

Ierissos, Ancient Akanthos:

The venue will remain open to the public, without the organization of an event, from 20:00 έως 24:00.

Municipality of Kassandra

Kallithea, Sanctuary of Ammon Zeus:

The venue will remain open to the public, without the organization of an event, from 20:00 έως 24:00.
